How a football legend changed my mind from nearly becoming an Evertonian.
What made me want to become an artist -
Football is something I have been very passionate about since a very young age, I was brought up with sport being a very important thing especially Liverpool FC.
Although I nearly became an Evertonian, in the days of Neville Southall with wanting to be a goalkeeper. But my Dad was friends with Billy Liddel and the stories and getting to have a kick about with my Dad and Billy they made sure I was always going to be a red.
Why the artist, from a school trip in year 6 to the Walker art gallery sat in front of the Henry eighth painting just the power of what painting could be and listening to the story being told to us. That was the day I went from just wanting to be a footballer to wanting to become an artist.
Becoming an artist has not been an easy adventure. I'm not naturally talented but I'm always willing and learning to develop new skills and techniques. It has been amazing that my dream has come true and I have had my work exhibited in national museums, exhibitions and met a lot of amazing people along the way so far.
Painting landscapes and skies was inspired by visiting Wales and trips to Crosby beach watching sunsets.
